Add the ability to fax from the document manager.
If you have a document open in the document manager there is not an option to fax the document.

Using two windows at one time
Our providers are requesting that they be able to work out of two different windows in the EMR at one time. For instance, when typing a letter, you have to minimize that letter in order to go into a different part of the patients chart. It would be nice to have two things up at once, side by side for comparison.

EMR "Copy" User Function
Ability to "Copy" an existing user. Most practices like to create a new user identical to an existing user. It would be nice to be able to "Copy" the items that are not user-specific and require the user to enter the specific items such as First Name, Last Name, Suffix, username, and password.
16 votesHello all,
We are not doing this specifically but looking to evaluate options to make the EMR roles/additional functions work more similarly to PM Permissions/Groups for much easier management of new and existing users. We would love to hear any feedback on that.
Thank you!

Ability to close all open charts on a particular computer rather than one at a time in EMR
When we have 8-10 charts open on a particular computer, we cannot open more charts until they are closed. Can we have a functionality to close all open charts at once (a tab top right) because it is time consuming to close them one at a time.
12 votesNo enhancement will be made at this time, user can log out to close all enc currently, support will look into workflow id 29273

Appointments to Portal
Have all new appointments optionally send to the portal. Today practices need to subscribe to another appointment reminder service even though they have another avenue they already subscribe to that can communicate with the patients (the portal). While maybe not as robust as a full appointment reminder service, it would allow some form of communication about the appointment without another subscription.

Limit the information that is published with the CCR/CCD
Add the ability for the CCR/CCD to select what you would like to pubish. Practices are not wanting certain information, like lab results, problem list, meds, immunizations, vitals, soc or family history to be published to the patient's portal.
8 votesThere is not a published specification for this type of requirement for CCR/CCD specification require all data is to be provided only the CDA has specification to accommodated limited info means are in the application to do this.

Copy documents directly into EMR without printing and then scanning
If we need to post a document into the chart from a website (such as ASCVD risk calculator, etc.) we have to print it from the website, then scan and then input into EMR in the patients chart. Why not eliminate all the unnecessary steps??

Automatically add the diagnosis to the problem list.
Automatically add the diagnosis give to the problem list.
8 votesAfter review with CAB, should not be added to the list automatically. Majority of these should be reviewed and identified properly not automatically.

Need ability to auto-populate bill builder when a Screening and Prevention Procedure is Performed
When a Screening and Prevention Procedure is done by the Nurse or ancillary staff, we need to have the bill builder populate this information directly into bill builder without having to add this information into a separate Order or Template
7 votesThis will not be accommodated the necessary billing information is not available to proper build bill. An order should be used for proper documentation and billing.

"Create Order" Checkbox Automatically Checked For Referral Orders
It would be nice to include a "User Preference" item to automatically check the "Create Order" checkbox within the encounter for specific plan types (i.e., Referral, Lab, etc.).
Most of the time, when items are added to the encounter's "Plan" area, the checkbox for "Create Order" needs to be checked. Enabling the provider to have this checkbox automatically checked for ALL of that specific plan type items would prevent many of the issues that arise by the providers run across by not having this checkbox checked. This checkbox should override any “Expert settings” option that selects/unselects this checkbox.
For example:…

This will not be reviewed at this time. There is logic in place with expert settings and templates as to when to check and not check the box. Many changes have been made over the years and it is currently at a spot that everyone is used to. We will not be making any changes here. -
History Template - Add more categories
When bringing a new center online the History Recorder is a great tool and would be an all inclusive area for data entry (when converting a practice from paper to electronic) if the following areas were included:
Immunizations
Screening & Prevention
LT/Other Medications

Inactive Users Not Appearing In Reference Lists
Once a user is marked as "Inactive" within the EMR Manager, that user should no longer be available for selection in ANY reference list (i.e., Orders, Attachments, Prescriptions, etc.). This should also include removing the users from any common lists that was previously created.

Medication update eligibility (green pill) in chart
I love the eligibility update feature and would like to see the green/red pill to show that eligibility has been updated to access the RXhub in the patients chart. Currently I need to go into the prescription pad or the medication tab within the chart to view that this is up to date

Pre-Encounters Display in Desktop > Encounters
Include Pre-Encounters in the Unsigned List on the Desktop or allow a User Preference to be turned on that displays them to keep from having to flip between filters. In Addition to that there needs to be a restriction that prevents having unsigned Pre-Encounters in the manager to prevent staff from continuing to have high unsigned encounter rates.

Past Chief Complaints
Our providers are requesting that in an encounter, if you are trying to add a chief complaint, the "smart" button will populate past chief complaints. This would work just like the assessment section, where the past diagnoses populate under the "smart" tab. This would save our providers a lot of time when their patients are seen for the same things every 3 months.

Additional shortcuts from Desktop>Attachments
A lot of test results come back through your desktop under attachments from outside referrals. It would speed up the process to update the chart if a shortcut was available when viewing the attachment in DMS.
A Dashboard shortcut is another solution in the event you needed to update other areas of the chart when viewing attachments in DMS.5 votes -
Patient Groups - Schedule visits area
Have the group display in the schedule visits area so you know without having to open the patients chart that they are a diabetes patient or Medicare group etc.

Change History to show who viewed items in Summary not just in Encounter
Right now the only way to see who viewed an item is by going in an encounter or opening a new encounter and then going into Review and then Change History. If you want to see who viewed an item in the Chart Summary and select Change History it only shows those items that were changed and not viewed. It would be more logical to see who viewed from the Chart Summary. Example if a provider needed to show to show legally when they viewed an attachment (as in a legal case) the only way to do that now is…

CQM Report and/or Feature
End users would like a report and/or feature in the EMR that would allow them to check measures based on a specific patient or group of patients, for example, patients scheduled on a future day.
Purposed Options
1 - Nightly SQL job that will run this measure or measures for patients on the schedule at that time for the future, say a week in advance. When a provider looks at the scheduled visits they would know right away if the patients they are seeing today have or have not met a certain measures and can accommodate accordingly. Here the measures…
