Add the ability to fax from the document manager.
If you have a document open in the document manager there is not an option to fax the document.

EMR mail
The MicroMD EMR mail could use some enhancements. Firstly, it needs an option to "save as draft". It's very frustrating to be in the middle of typing a message, need to navigate to a different screen due to an interruption, and not be able to save that message and go back to it. Having to re-type the message is very time consuming. Secondly, it would be nice to have sub-folders so that incoming mail can be sorted. A lot of times, users don't want to mark their messages as "read" because they will go away, and it's something they want…

Auto-populate text while typing
Was suggested by a client to have the EMR have an option where it could auto-populate text while typing that pulls in words from the dictionary, or list words that are similar to what is currently being typed into various EMR text fields.

EMR "Copy" User Function
Ability to "Copy" an existing user. Most practices like to create a new user identical to an existing user. It would be nice to be able to "Copy" the items that are not user-specific and require the user to enter the specific items such as First Name, Last Name, Suffix, username, and password.

Enhance communication between Dentrix and EMR
Enhance communication between Dentrix and the EMR , so med and dental can see Rx's from each other, and send phone notes back and forth.

Patient Portal - Show what type of item was added to the portal
We have received feedback from a couple of patients that when they get the email saying that they have new records, it would be helpful for them if it said what category the records were (medication, lab result, etc).

Quick Text - Mark as Obsolete / Deleted
Include the ability to "Delete" or "Make Obsolete" QuickText items at an administrative level. Currently, if you use the Quick Text "Manager", it will only allow you to add, edit, or delete the items that the currently logged in user created. Therefore, it prevents a manager from cleaning-up this list once it gets cluttered with unused or old entries.

Notify multiple providers when attaching a document to a chart
Our medical scanner, from the desktop, opens her incoming fax queue, opens one of the documents from there. Chooses a patient, then at the bottom right of the window, can select one provider to notify as she submits the attachment. We would like to be able to select multiple providers so that we do not create more than one instance of the document on the patients chart. Also be able to select groups that are setup.

Test Results - Patient Phone Show Primary Phone
Within the Desktop > Test Results area, the "Patient Phone" field displays the "Home" phone number of the patient. This has no dependence on which phone number is set as the primary and/or secondary phone number within the patient's account. It would make sense and be very useful to have the PRIMARY phone number display in this area, regardless of which phone number that would be. With this always displaying a home phone number, the user would need to open the patient's chart in order to determine if that was the correct phone number to call in order to discuss…

Provider to review lab results before publishing to portal
Our providers would like to review their patients lab results before they are published to the portal. As it is now, any time an update (such as lab results) is made to the chart, it goes to the portal updates to be published. The providers need the opportunity to review the results and discuss them with the patient before they see them on the portal, and do not really understand what they mean. We would like the lab results to go to the providers desktop, as they do now. Once the provider has the lab results "marked as viewed", then…

Be able to add order test code in Referral while you are in the encounter
Currently when a referral is added in the encounter, you are able to attach the diagnosis code but you have to click on orders to attach the actual test that you are wanting to order.
I would like to be able to attach the order test to the referral without leaving the encounter.

Problem List order option
My client asked that we add the feature to sort the Problem List as entered, allowing an up and down arrow for re-ordering as needed. This is a therapy practice that uses the same diagnoses for most all sessions and the provider needs to see the Primary diagnosis at the top followed by secondary and so on with the chronic issues not being treated by the provider near the bottom. If the order option is not feasible perhaps a way to easily notate with number or alpha character beside the problem.

Appointments to Portal
Have all new appointments optionally send to the portal. Today practices need to subscribe to another appointment reminder service even though they have another avenue they already subscribe to that can communicate with the patients (the portal). While maybe not as robust as a full appointment reminder service, it would allow some form of communication about the appointment without another subscription.

Link Assessment and Plan
While creating an encounter:
Add a "Plan" box for each diagnosis in the ASSESSMENT area. It can be similar to the comment box already present in the system. When an encounter report is printed, it needs to print this new field under the PLAN header and show each individual diagnosis and plan typed in the new box.
This should help with any audit asking for a clear link between the provider assessment and plan. Some options like "associated diagnosis" are available in some areas (not provider instructions), however they lack the total solution.

Using scroll bar in DMS multipage document should reset the view at top of "next" page viewed
Desktop > Document Manager
Open a multi-page document > scroll to bottom of image
Go to next pageWould like the image to open at the top of the next page, but instead it remains at the same portion of the page in which the user scrolled previously.

Improvement to Check In update to EMR
We are asking that, if they uncheck the checkin on a patient in the PM, since we already send that to the Change History in the EMR, that we would remove the checkin in the EMR as well.
The way it is working now the practice has to go into the EMR and manually remove them from being checked in.

Add the ability to view password reset acitivity in the patient portal secure chart
When the password for a patient in secure chart is reset, the same activity should be recorded in the patient log section in secure chart.
The staff not knowing that the password was reset, try to reset the password again and making the 1st password reset useless. If the password reset tracking was available to the staff, they would not reset the password the second time.7 votesThank you for the suggestion.

Enhancement for Growth Chart to be able to Print/Fax and add to Batch Basket
Growth charts for Pediatric Practice have to be faxed/sent to specialist from time to time. It would be nice if you could print to the fax or batch basket. Currently you have to print out, then scan, then fax to Provider specialty

Who test result was forwarded to and what comments made on the forward test result
A doctor requested the following:
When forwarding a test result, MicroMD doesn’t appear to save to whom the result was forwarded to and what comments were made. It doesn’t appear anywhere. The Change History doesn’t document this. Perhaps adding the forward information to a right click menu could be a resolution or on the result itself.

Prescriptions End date
If the long-term medication list the number of tablets and number of refills; it would be helpful for the end date automatically populate when the medication is to be prescribed.
New prescriptions will include statements like take the medication for 1 month - this is confusing to the patient's because they will stop taking their medications; This is the only way the end date is now populating
