MicroMD EMR Enhancements
DMS
When reviewing documents in DMS, can we add a signed and date button that the provider can click on to insert his initials and todays date on the document?
This would decrease the number of clicks required by the provider. Results would be increased productivity for the provider
HSMS internal reference id 17728 this suggestion will begin to be reviewed by product management, development, and services teams.

Right now, the only way to electronically sign an attachment is for the provider to open the chart, go to the Medical tab, click on the misc. tab, then open the document read it, close the tab, click on 'sign" (love the new signature) then go back to the desk top and mark the attachment read. This is very cumbersome, and actually does not prove the provider even read the document as they could click sign without opening the document.
A much better way, and one that at least would make the appearance of the provider reading the document, is to remove the sign tab from the lower right list and add the ability inside the open document only.
One way to do this is to have a tab similar to on the lab results where the provider can make notes and sign right on the document more easily. The annotation ability is a little cumbersome, but if it dated and timed the note was made, it could effectively and easily make the document signed. Another way is how some DM have, is once a document is filed having the option to forward the document to the provider directly from the DM (which would be great for scanned in items). A window opens along side the document when it opens, where the provider can make notes, forward back to the staff member, and sign off the document. When printed, this window prints out as another page of the document. The electronic signature is still shown across the top of the document.
We have had insurance audits who ask us how we can show a provider has read a document. Right now we have to give them a stack of printed papers for their physical notes, where this could be made so easy for them to do through the document manager, and also when opening an attachment.

Add "Electronically signed by <provider name> <date> <time>" to any document/scan in DMS. It must print and appear when viewed. This idea was posted by Jim Popp for labs. Version 15 will have this feature for labs. I'm just asking to have this feature for not only labs, but any document in the EMR. It would help the users a lot.

This feature has been highly desired for years. Is it in the works? Any staff member that has ever gone through an audit will tell you that the current system features are lacking in this area. We need a clear and simple way to prove when a provider looks at a document. A check mark under the "viewed" column is not enough. Also, having to right click an item individually (every time) to view change history isn't efficient either when having to do so on numerous patients.

Offer the ability to apply electronic signature to EMR attachments. The way you can add an image of a provider’s signature to a prescription template(see attached)

Problem: Groups and Health Plans often REQUIRE a provider signature. The "viewed" data in change history is rarely sufficient to use for referrals, audits, etc.
Expected Result: The provider needs a simple button that will allow them to post their signature, date and time on ANY DOCUMENT in EMR.
FYI - This is not my idea. This idea was copied from Jim Popp who posted the idea in 2014. The idea received 16 VOTES, but it's still not in the system.

what about a button on the annotation ribbon bar that would add the doc's signature along with the date and time. one of our docs has been hounding us about this for 5 months.

one of my sites has also asked that the doctor be able to stamp his signature block on each dms document.
