Open Multiple Windows
We would like to be able to open multiple windows at the same time within the EMR. For example: When providers are interpreting lab results, they like to be able to look at medications the patient is on. Currently, they have to close the lab result window to open the med list, then close the med list to go back to the lab results. This is very time consuming and inefficient. Also, the nurses and medical assistants also need to have multiple windows open sometimes, for instance, if they are trying to talk to a patient about a message and it is regarding labs or something else, they need to be able to look at other windows at the same time.

In particular, I would like to be able to access different charts while in edit screen of an encounter, open other screens from a chart while writing a phone msg or internal mail, and open, for example, a lab result on one side of the screen while transferring that data into a note or into a prevention and screening widow on the other side of the screen.

The function you are suggesting may be available already. In windows where a user can not access the charts medical information MicroMD EMR has a ? in the upper right hand corner this give a user access to the Patient Monitor which can give access to many areas of the chart without closing the open window.
