They would like the ability to sort by diagnosis—all hypertensive meds, all diabetic meds, etc. I know some meds might be used for more than one thing, but what its main use is

Anything that allows a provider to sort the med list, and past diagnosis list. These often become long enough it's difficult to find pertinent meds, or dx that weren't mere guess and are not valid. In the case of med list, the wrong meds can be rx , raising the issue of pt safety.

I believe the intent was to sort the patient's medications in their chart by type of medication - not sort the common list or index general list-

Thank You for the suggestion. Note that using the index button on the rx pad gives the user ability to narrow the medication list by system or type.
